ST. JOSEPH, Mo. - A St. Joseph School District teacher has earned a national award. The school district says Darbie Valenti was one of 20 educators nationwide to earn the Henry Ford Innovation Nation Teacher Innovator Award.
Winners were picked for their ability to demonstrate habits of an innovator, inspire students to take risks and challenge rules, and to be collaborate and empathetic.
With the award, Valenti will receive $1,500 for classroom supplies, merchandise, and more.
